How would you ensure you stood out in a crowded room, by wearing your best clothes; having your dazzling smile at the ready or by putting your best foot forward? Well that's exactly the same principle you need to stick to when it comes to your online dating profile.
We've put together some ideas to help you get the best out of your online dating profile, whilst making sure you enjoy it too.

The first thing a possible match will notice is your language skills, so keep text talk to a minimum. Ensure your grammar and spelling are correct, re-read your profile before you set it to live and correct any mistakes. Text talk is hard to read and some people may dismiss your profile on this basis. Don't underestimate this aspect of your profile, remember first impressions are vital.
A little humour goes a long way...
People are generally attracted to a good sense of humour, the same applies to online dating. So try adding a little humour to your profile, making someone laugh a little can be a great conversational starter and will make you seem more open when someone wants to make contact!
Be Yourself
Potential matches want to get to know you through your dating profile, so just be yourself! Try not to use quotes from movies, or cheesy pick up lines as this can be a potential turn off, although people always tend to respond well to compliments!
Fill out the “free text” area
In your dating profile you're always given a free text area, this is your chance to shine and put your fantastic personality across, keep it concise, fun and above all make it about you. In some cases another person may disregard your profile based on the fact you haven't filled this out, why?... because it seems as though you have nothing to say... and who wants to go on a date with someone who has nothing to talk about? So remember fill this out.
Include a photograph
Photos are always important, even though it's the personality that counts, photos always make the right first impression! Your profile is 90% more likely to be viewed if you include just one photo, so if you want to get noticed, attach your picture! Select a good quality profile picture, make sure only you are in this image, after all you are the focus of your dating profile!
Finally, enjoy yourself!
Online dating is fun; you're going to meet lots of interesting people online and offline, so take your time and enjoy talking to new people. Don't be disheartened if it takes more than 2 or 3 dates to meet your special someone, just go out there and enjoy the dating experience!
