Fancy a top night out in Shrewsbury, having fun and meeting loads of new people? Come speed dating at The Peach Tree a popular venue, continuing our schedule of singles events in Shrewsbury, run by When The Music Stops.
When you arrive you will be greeted by your hosts and then be invited to join a group where you can chat and try to work out a simple quiz. Prizes will be offered to the couple who get the most correct answers. The Speed Dating will start afer the quiz.
Our speed dating parties are so much fun, they are worth staying single for! Come along with an open mind, don't take it too seriously and you'll have a great time, meeting loads of single people and maybe someone really special. Remember, always flirt responsibly!
How Speed Dating Works
Please arrive from 7.45pm to check in, ready for a prompt 8.00 start. You'll be welcomed by our host upon arrival, then invited to the bar to drink, relax and mingle while we register all our guests.
Once everyone has arrived, the host will explain how speed dating works and answer any questions. Then the dating begins, with women staying seated while men rotate about every 5 minutes, when a bell rings. Guests mark on a match sheet whether they want to see each person again, handing this in at the end. The speed dating finishes around 10pm, at which point you're invited to stay on afterwards for drinks at the bar, for further mingling and flirting.

The Peach Tree is in a newly-renovated area of Shrewsbury, alongside the river with stripped wooden floors and timbered ceilings, and was originally a weaver's cottage adjacent to the Abbey. Its name derives from the hundreds of ripe peaches, peach trees, and peach boughs that someone laboriously stencilled onto the walls. You won't have been sitting down for long before you are staring up at the fabulous open beam roof timbers. The restaurant itself is on two levels, though only the downstairs tends to be used during the day.
Located opposite the Norman Abbey Church, Peach Tree dates back to the 15th century but the present feel is for contemporary, linking easily with the older parts of the building. The adjoining "C21" is a modern, trendy and friendly bar/restaurant, well-known very popular with all ages of customer, whose owners are well respected in the community, and have over the years reinvested heavily in the business to make it what it is today - a first class venue for a diverse range of people.
