Lock & Key Parties, UK

Lock and Key parties are large format events which often attract upwards of 250 people. These events are less structured than speed dating but their selling point is the highly effective lock and key icebreaker.

On arrival guys are provided with a key and ladies are given a small padlock on a cord. The organisers will aim to ensure that there's an equal male/female split attending. The purpose of the event is for people to find their matching lock and key combination.

The beauty is that in doing this you will meet lots of people along the way – and hopefully some you'll want to see again! Lock and key parties are taking place in stylish and fun venues and tend to feel more like a big party where everyone knows each other rather than a singles event!
