Mamboo is a general online dating site with a worldwide membership base. Most of the features on offer are free of charge however some features are chargeable on a credit basis.

Profile Creation

Initial registration is quick and simple and Facebook users can sign up via their existing account in just a couple of clicks. Once registered you are greeted with your personalised home screen displaying many of the usual features including search and who has viewed your profile. The layout and navigation is straight forward and the design is clear. Mamboo’s interface is very visual and there is a scrolling carousel of newly joined members for you to browse. There is also a section showing the top 100 members by popularity. You’ll also find a progress bar showing the completeness of your profile. It’s a good reminder as a complete profile is a must for online dating success.

Search Style

As a free member you are limited to a basic search based solely on gender, age and location. There is a comprehensive advanced search however this can only be used by paying VIP members.

This site offers phone support however we noted that the main number is based in Kazakhstan. Definitely a call to be made via Skype! There is a UK number located on the Terms of Use page. It’s not possible to remove your profile online but the site states that any inactive profiles are automatically deleted after two months of inactivity. This is good news as you know that all profiles are live. We liked that this site does not have a recurring subscription policy. Should you wish to use any of the paid functionality you simply purchase credits in bundles of five. It’s also possible to email a support team via the help pages.
