Profile Creation

You need to set aside at least an hour to register on eHarmony. The site requires all members - free and paying - to fill out a long personality questionnaire in order to automatically match you with compatible people. It is possible to sign into eHarmony via your Facebook login details which saves some time.

Search Style

It's not possible to search for members on eHarmony as the site provides you with a list of compatible people based on the answers you give when you fill out their personality questionnaire. As a new member it's often the case that you will be provided with just a few potential matches but the site will drip feed you new matches each day as your membership progresses.

Halo Score

eHarmony provides several features that improved their Halo score. Free telephone support and the ability to easily cancel your membership online are good.

There were also a couple of factors that detracted from it: We didn't like that it costs more to renew your membership if you choose not to use the auto-renew package and this site does not publish the date when members were last online so you can't be sure you are messaging an active member. Furthermore, as a free member, you cannot see the photos of the people you match with.

You can either direct message/email members in the traditional way via eHarmony. There is an alternate method of communication that involves several stages. You start by initiating communication, each member submits a further questionnaire consisting of a list of "must haves and can't stand" features about the kind of person you are seeking. As you progress through this system you learn more about the person until you decide you wish to send a full message and converse via email.
