“Went to the Babble Mayfair event last night. Good event, nice people. good value for money considering you get a free month of online dating when you buy an event. It does say you pay after the first month so just make sure you cancel before then if you only want the free month. I'm guessing the guy below didnt read that text - it does say it will renew both when you book and in the confirmaiton email. so be warned! For those who havent been before i would recommend this company.”

“SpeedDater is to be avoided. Speed Dater have taken £20 a month from my credit card without my authority and have done the same to my friend for £5 per month. This is an absolute scam.”
“Arrived at Reading venue for 7:30pm start and was told by bar staff it would be at 8pm as they were late. After an hour, phoned their office to be told they were aware and was asked to wait!!! WTF!! Exactly how long did they expect me to sit there? Assured me someone would call me back - guess what? No call!! Gave up at 9pm and they just kept hanging up the phone. Thieves!”
“I have booked into 2 speed dater events, both have been cancelled, I only found out they were cancelled at I checked on the website for starting time. I think ththey should send a text.”

“Attended a few of the Speed Dating sessions as well as the New Years and Lock and Key parties and had a great time! Such an easy way to meet people in London, which can be pretty lonely if you're not into meeting people in Pubs/Clubs and SO much more fun than sticking solely to online dating.
All in all I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to make friends or find someone special. :)”
“Went speed dating at Babble bar in Mayfair and really enjoyed it. Really nice choice of venue, hadn't been before but i'd go back. The host Stefan was very organised and made sure he moved us fellas along when we got a bit carried away and talked for too long! haha”
“i'm going to take a wild guess here that the one stars are from competitor companies. Speeddater is the longest running company which also has the busiest events. plainly, you don't become the market leader if you run poorly organised events! i've been to a few london events over the years and no company even comes close. particularly the parties. i've been to an xfactor one with about 100 less people to begin with, and on top of that there were twice as many men than women. dont bother with anyone else, trust me!”

“Went to speeddating in Reading, which was badly organised. Two 21-31 age group events cancelled due to low numbers, one on the day itself. Receive loads of creepy messages on website and twice after receiving confirmation that I had cancelled repeat billing they still took money from my account and it took several emails to get a refund.”

“Shocking in every way, singles party was poorly organised. Their website is in no way secure, they send you your password and login in every email. Also full of fake profiles.
AVOID!!!”
“I would not recommend them. ABACUS LONDON .The speeddating was badly timed up, some were 8mins, some 2mins. They did not put up half the pictures on the wall,i.e my friend's pic never went up so no chance for her to get any flirt cards,that's outrageous, what is the point? Would definitely go speeddating again but not with them!”

“i went to the valentines party in feb which had something like 700 people there (too many!) but i much prefer the regular speed dating which i tried on monday in mayfair. ladies were more to my age (i'm 44) and i preferred the format. met 18 ladies and have been in contact with a few so we shall see what happens!!”
“Went to a lock and key party. Loud bar; crowded; speeddating was in a tiny corner of the room, with everyone hunched together on benches. The "Flirt Wall" attracted abusive messages, which was absolutely heartbreaking. I only met a handful of nice women; many of them seemed a bit precious. It was my first event of this type, so I'm prepared to consider myself unlucky on this occasion.”
“i went to the party at orchid with a group of girl friends. really nice venue and we were totally surprised how 'normal' the guys were! obviously not all were to my taste but there were about 200 guys there so thats pretty good odds! hosts were very well organised. you can tell this company has been doing this for years.”

“Gosh the review for this company are up and down. I guess people are more inclined to winge about a company than praise them. I've been speed dating with most of the companies that run dating events in my area. The trouble some events are great others less so. Since the organisers have to rely on everyone turning up not every event will work to plan. On the whole most events go well. Occassionally not so. I've met lots of people and recon speed dating is a great way to find someone.”
“I went to an event in London last week. Was with three girlfriends and we were all very nervous! The event went well and all of us are meeting up this week with guys we met on the night. All very exciting. I enjoyed my speed dater event for sure!”
“This speeddating event was advertised as being for those aged 32-42. At the event many of the guys seemed older. In fact 5 of 17 guys were over 42 including one at 52. Two others were aged 42. The real ages of everyone are on the Speeddater website when you log on after the event. Even though I've contacted SpeedDater to ask why they don't try to ensure /encourage people to stick to the age bracket, they've not responded over a week later, though they indicate they normally respond within 24hrs.”

“Oh dear God, don't do it! Got to the event and they'd moved it to a bar down the road without telling the 'datees' then only had 8 dates with at least two who were on a free night so they revealed. Luckily was with a friend and we laughed about how dire the event was. Have to say that the host was lovely but was fighting a losing battle!”
